Material cost may represent up to 70% of the total product cost and therefore offers the most efficient way to reach the expected savings and productivity. Thanks to an extensive database of automotive and non-automotive companies especially in Central and Eastern Europe, ABP Management may source alternative suppliers for different production technologies and product families and manage RFI process.

After a NDA signature the selected suppliers might be “tested” on a specific RFQ that would check the competitiveness and technical level of the supplier. In final, ABP Management my also audit the potential supplier and coach him over the project phase to become independent for the future.

Going down in the supply chain of the automotive industry, in practice the requirements decrease. Tier-1 supplier must reach high automotive standards, on the other hand the processes of Tier-2 or Tier-3 suppliers are far from “best practice”. The same as practically all OEMs invest resources into Supply Chain development, also the investments of Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers into their strategic sub-suppliers development may be an investment that will come back very quickly.

ELABORATION OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN THE COMPANY (WBS)/TRAINING

Standardization in the automotive industry is spread out into all processes, including Project Management. Automotive companies have developed corporate systems of project management with project phases and milestones, including all tasks to plan and to budget. Despite that many of them must be very operative, does not use the system due to missing knowledge/skills or the system is missing at all.
